  • Nate ediger, M.A.

    Campus Minister

    nediger@ashland.edu

Nate has been privileged to serve as Catholic Campus Minister to The Newman Community at Ashland University since Fall of 2015. In that role, he hopes to inspire and equip people to experience a life of Christian discipleship that is “characterized by two essential elements: conversion and mission" (Pope Francis, 2014). His office is located in the Lower Chapel, but he much prefers to be out and about campus sharing faith and life with students, faculty, and staff!

Nate is a 1998 graduate of Ashland (B.A. Religion). He and his wife Jen (Hamilton) met while students at AU. They were married in 1999 and have been blessed with four amazing children. A grace-filled journey of faith through various Protestant traditions (Mennonite, Baptist, and Lutheran) eventually brought Nate and his family into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2013. Beyond family-life and campus ministry, Nate enjoys a variety of recreational activities, watching many sports, reading, and consuming far too much coffee and ice cream.

Prior to serving the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland as Associate Director of Newman Campus Ministry, Nate spent six years in residential building construction, two years in AU’s Bachelors Plus Program for Teacher Education, nine years as Director of Youth Ministry in a parish, and three years at Walsh University where he earned the degree of M.A. Theology with a Concentration in Christian Education.
